The Library, as one of the leading sources of information and knowledge on Africa, vigorously works to meet information needs of its current and future clienteles; It possesses over 50 thousand volumes of books, and subscribes to about 150 print & digital journals; It also facilitates access to hundreds of thousands of electronic journal articles, book chapters, monographs, newspapers, etc., through direct subscriptions and/or in partnership with information & knowledge providers;
The Library also deployed the African Knowledge Sharing Platform (AKSP), https://akb.au.int, with objectives of: a). revamping visibility, access to and usages of African related publications on the Internet, b). aggregating various institutions’ publications for one-stop access, c). collecting and controlling African bibliographies, and d). developing and maintaining African local content and indigenous knowledge databases.Location of the African Union library
